Construction back TPI's ReliaTouch touchscreens are constructed of two layers (Switch & Pick-up) of electrically conductive transparent films facing one another and separated by a gasket. The Switch layer has a row of busbars positioned along the four edges. Conductive ink is used to form resistors linking the busbars and Forming a resistor chain. Low resistance busbars are used to transfer signals from four corners of the element to the tail. The pick-up layer uses a screen printed busbar to transfer the voltage signal to the tail. The entire switch assembly can be mounted on a rigid Glass, Acrylic or Polycarbonate backer. |
Operation back Two opposing layers of ReliaTouch are held apart by small separator dots until they come into contact by a light finger pressure. The voltage signal measured via pick-up layer is then decoded by the controller to provide the application software with X and Y coordinates of the touch point. |
